Meet Dan Engles – Founder and Managing Director of Visa Solutions Australia
Dan Engles, the son of migrant parents was born in Lahore Pakistan. His family came to Australia in 1966 when Dan was just two years old. At the time, Dan’s father was given the opportunity to work in Australia on an iron ore railway project in north Western Australia. An opportunity too good to miss, Dan’s father sold everything, found a sponsor and made the trip to Australia with his wife and two children.
Dan grew up in Western Australia and went on to study a Bachelor of Business majoring in Economics and Finance from Curtin University of Technology and later a Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Canberra University. After graduating, he held a high-profile position as an economist at the Federal Treasury in Canberra. However, Dan made the decision to leave his post to return to Perth so his children could be closer to their grandparents. He took up a role as senior economist with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia, a position he held from 1996 to 2004.
While working at the Chamber of Commerce he established and managed a new commercial service, CCI Migration Services for the Chamber. This business operated successfully and was subsequently sold to KPMG several years later.
Following the successful creation and operation of CCI Migration Services Dan went on to establish Visa Solutions Australia which officially opened its doors on 26th November 2004.
Today, Visa Solutions Australia has offices in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne. The VSA team is made up of 15 staff members – eight registered migration agents and a team of support staff made up of accountants and administrative assistants across Australia, Vietnam, Singapore and the Philippines.
While it hasn’t always been a smooth ride, Dan is proud of what he’s achieved with Visa Solutions Australia and how he and the VSA team have overcome the challenges and hurdles that often arise when running a business including some challenges which would never have been envisaged in any business planning process.
The Visa Solutions team isn’t just a team of registered migration agents and administrative professionals helping clients get visas, they are a family dedicated to providing a high-quality, personalised service.
