Scam Alert

Visa Solutions Australia

Beware of scammers.

We know that scammers are pretending to be Visa Solutions Australia and our Managing Director, Dan Engles.

They’re contacting people through WhatsApp and fake job advertisements, and some are using our name, our registration number and our office address so they look genuine. Please read this page before you reply to any message, job offer or payment request that claims to come from us.

How they’re contacting people.

These are the scams we’ve seen so far. If you’re contacted in any of these ways, stop and call us before you do anything else.

01

WhatsApp messages

Scammers are messaging people on WhatsApp and claiming to be from Visa Solutions Australia or one of our migration agents. They may offer help with a visa, a job or sponsorship, then ask for money, copies of your passport or other personal documents.

02

Fake job advertisements

Fake job ads are promising work in Australia, often with visa sponsorship included. They usually ask you to pay a fee up front for “processing”, a “visa package” or a guaranteed job.

03

Ads that copy our real details

Some fake ads use our Managing Director’s name, our Migration Agent Registration Number (MARN), our office address, and Australian Government and OMARA logos so they look official. A real registration number or address on an ad does not prove that it’s from us.

Before you pay us.

Visa Solutions Australia issues a formal invoice for our services. To protect yourself, follow these three steps every time.

1. Wait for our invoice. Don’t pay because of a WhatsApp message, text message or job ad.

2. Call us to confirm our bank details before every payment. Use the numbers on this page, not a phone number or email address given in the message or on the invoice you received.

3. If you’re asked to pay into a different or “new” account, stop. Call us before you send any money.

Warning signs of a scam

Be careful if someone claiming to be from Visa Solutions Australia:

  • contacts you first on WhatsApp or social media
  • emails you from an address that doesn’t end in @visasolutions.com.au, such as a Gmail address or a lookalike domain
  • promises a guaranteed job, visa or sponsorship
  • asks for payment before you’ve received an invoice from us
  • asks you to pay by gift card, cryptocurrency or money transfer service, or into a personal bank account
  • pressures you to act quickly or asks you to keep it secret
